To form the Addison Association of Industry & Commerce, Inc. Our new organization worked in cooperation with its members from the commercial and industrial business community, to retain and develop business in Addison, and to represent business to local, county, state and national governmental agencies. In 2003 the members voted to change the name to the Addison Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Our organization serves almost 300 members from within our community and neighboring municipalities.
Although our name has changed, our commitment to be of service to our members and the business community of Addison as a whole has remained the same.
by means of our monthly luncheon meetings, breakfast sessions and seminars where our expert speakers provide attendees with valuable and up-to-date information. Our social gatherings such as scheduled business after hours events, which are sponsored by members, the annual golf outing and holiday cocktail party, offer opportunities to get to know each other better. Our electronic newsletter “Shoptalk” provides up-to-date information to our members on legislative matters, business conditions, opportunities to advertise, and more. We have served the community in many ways, including support of our local service organizations.
Each year, the Addison Chamber of Commerce & Industry has hosted a Student Honors Banquet, an event which allowed us to recognize the top graduating students from Addison Trail and Driscoll Catholic High Schools, and award scholarships. Following the closing of Driscoll Catholic High School in 2010, the ACCI continues to hold this event to recognize the top students of the Addison Trail High School graduating class, and award the scholarships. By promoting, informing and supporting its members and the business community-at-large, the ACCI is an invaluable entity in showcasing the advantages of doing business in Addison.
